Appliance Lookup
Read an appliance data plate and get the model, an estimated manufacture date, typical lifespan, warranty guidance, and a maintenance schedule.
$7 once, paid through Stripe. The preview is free: brand, model, serial, and whether a manufacture date was found. The year and the schedule stay behind the payment.
Questions
What does the $7 cover?
One report for the plate you submit: the estimated manufacture date when the code decodes, typical lifespan, warranty guidance, and a maintenance schedule. The preview shows what was read and whether a date was found. It does not show the year until payment clears. A labeled sample plate is not for sale.
What if the date can't be decoded?
The preview says so before you pay. You can still buy the report. It will say the date is unknown, and it will still include the usual lifespan and maintenance notes for that kind of appliance. Paying does not turn an unknown code into a date.
What if the photo is blurry?
Type the brand, model, and serial from the plate. Typed characters override anything the photo reading got wrong. A glare shot is optional once you have the numbers.
How accurate is the manufacture date?
It depends on the brand. Bosch FD numbers and several water-heater layouts are specific. GE, Whirlpool, LG, and Samsung reuse year characters on a cycle, so the page picks the most recent plausible year and lists the other ones. If the format isn't reliable, it says it doesn't know.
Does this tell me if I'm still under warranty?
No. It gives the usual U.S. warranty shape for that kind of appliance and reminds you that coverage starts at purchase, not at the factory. Call the manufacturer with the model and serial before you decline a repair.
Do you keep the photo?
No. The photo is used to read the plate and then dropped. If no vision key is set, the photo is not sent to an AI provider. Email you submit for the schedule is stored. See the privacy page.
