Grey RockTools

Privacy

Grey Rock Tools is run by Grey Rock Estate Solutions. Questions about your information go to Tony Griffith at greyrockes@gmail.com or 513-404-7544.

Photos

A data-plate photo is used to read the brand, model, and serial. Grey Rock does not store the image. If a vision key is configured, the photo is sent to that provider (OpenAI or Anthropic) under their terms and then dropped. If no key is set, the photo is not uploaded. A photo-only try in that mode returns a labeled sample, not a reading of your sticker.

Payment

The card number, expiration, and CVC are entered on Stripe Checkout. Grey Rock does not see or store them. Stripe tells us whether the payment succeeded, the amount, the email collected at checkout, and the plate fields we attached to that checkout: brand, model, serial, FD code, and appliance type. Those fields are how the paid report is rebuilt. Test mode uses Stripe test cards and does not create a real charge.

Email and messages

Newsletter, waitlist, schedule, contact, and feedback submissions are stored with the address, the message, and the time. A schedule request also stores the text of the report, not the photo. On a normal server that file lives on disk. On Vercel the disk is temporary unless a signup webhook is configured. We don't sell the list. Write to greyrockes@gmail.com to be removed.

Analytics

The site can record a page path and a timestamp in a first-party log. It does not set a tracking cookie, and it does not store your IP address. A browser with Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control is skipped. The same browser session is remembered only in sessionStorage so one visit isn't counted twice. If Plausible is configured, that script is the privacy-friendly analytics tool and it does not use cookies.

Errors

If the page throws, the browser sends the error message, a short stack, and the path. It does not send the form you were filling in.
